Applause all around

Friends of the Atascadero Library applaud everyone who made our sixth annual Atascadero: Dancing with our Stars, “Wonderful World of Dance!” an enormous success.

The event grossed over $90,000 for the new Atascadero Library and crowned Community Star Vicky Morse as the champion. Her routine was choreographed by Chris Harmon, who partnered with her in the dance.

In second place was Maria Allen and choreographer Dan Davis, and third place to Robyn Schmidt and her choreographer, Tom Troxel.

“Good Sport” at the event was awarded to emcee and mayor of Paso Robles, Steve Martin, who played an interactive role in the show as a tourist traveling through eight countries.

All Community Stars were champions for the new library — Albert Almodova, Julie Dunn, Joe Laurenzi, John Neil and George Shoemaker.

This wonderful event exists because our dance professionals donate their time and talents: artistic director Frank Sanchez and choreographers Molly Comin, Dan and Sharon Davis, Linda Drake, Chris Harmon, Cammie Haley, Jodi Mello, Leigh Ormonde, Eddie Rodriguez, Tom and Christina Troxel.

We are grateful to our major sponsors: Opolo Vineyards, Justin Vineyards, PG&E, Topaz Solar Farm, K-Jon’s Fine Jewelers, Bill Gaines Audio, DJ Jerry Craig and more. Additional sponsors are displayed at http://www.FriendsOfTheAtascaderoLibrary.org
