Solar solution

When I read in your Sunday paper, “State will have to turn to dirtier, more costly fossil-fuel plants to make up for electricity shortfall,” I immediately thought, why doesn’t California encourage more solar energy?

The more solar, the lower the cost. Why not encourage the energy of the sun, which is so ubiquitous in California?

Why give dirty fossil fuel to customers when our beautiful California sun could provide so many people with clean solar energy? Taking advantage of our weather seems to be an alternative that makes much more sense than dirty fossil fuel.

We went solar and are so happy we did. Our solar, installed late last year, cost us less than half of what we were quoted when we lived here 10 years ago. The more solar, the lower the cost. C’mon California, encourage solar energy!
