The SkyWest schedule changes at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport are bad news for those of us who fly to and from the East Coast and want to arrive at a decent hour. Currently, there are 90 seats on the three flights that leave SLO before 9 a.m. Those all allow for decent connections from LAX or SFO. The new schedule has only one 50-seat plane leaving before 10 a.m., and that is at 6:20 a.m.
Currently someone flying from LAX can arrive before noon and put in a reasonably full workday before flying back in the evening. With the new schedule, the first flight up here arrives about 2 p.m. and the last flight back leaves at 5:30 p.m. So more people will be forced to stay overnight.
I doubt that SkyWest consulted with airport personnel and surveyed passengers before implementing these changes. Right-wingers who don’t like them will undoubtedly blame President Obama!
