A mean school board

Just south of the happiest city in the universe (San Luis Obispo) rules one of the meanest school boards in the state of California.

The Lucia Mar Unified School District would rather pay an outside consultant (James C. Whitlock) $155 per hour than pay their children’s teachers a decent wage.

Regardless of their selfserving lip service concerning the education of our county’s future leaders, this group of non-educators refuses to offer enough compensation to attract and retain high-quality instructors.

Perhaps they think that our local teachers should commute from areas with a lower cost of living? And how far away would that be?
