Siding with the mob

After reading Garry Youngman’s March 6 letter, “Extremists aplenty,” I felt it important that you also hear from one of the “mob.”

I have been a registered nurse who has worked in the mother/baby field for more than 20 years. I have seen and felt the overwhelming pain and grief of mothers, fathers and other family members after a fetal demise.

I have also had the privilege of being a part of a grief counseling team that assists mothers and their families in the emotional recovery of a loss through fetal demise, including abortion. This is one of the many reasons I have worked tirelessly to empower women to make important health decisions for themselves and their babies. These decisions will impact the rest of their lives.

At the local hospital I work at, all patients are given the opportunity to hear the pros and cons before consenting to any medical procedure and its potential side effects. During my experience with the 40 Days for Life campaign, I have met many peaceful “mobsters” of all ages who are practicing their First Amendment right to speak out their message of “pro woman” and “pro child.”
