I disagree that sexuality should be discussed in a setting such as high school. Shining a light on LGBT students does more harm than good and is just asking for people to bully them.
Schools should adopt a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy regarding LGBT students. The survey data show that approximately 175 LGBT students have “seriously considered suicide,” while over 400 non-LGBT students have done so as well.
It is obvious that these issues affect everyone, not just LGBT students. I believe schools should stay away from discussing sexuality in a learning environment and should start making improvements for all, not one minority group. A whole school will benefit from an anti-bullying campaign.
