I believe the survey is, sadly, very true — to the point where some teens have actually come to the point of ending their lives.
I have actually seen depression in my family. One of my cousins is gay and had a hard time accepting it because of the way he was raised.
He wanted to commit suicide and actually ended up in a hospital bed. He was surrounded by a lot of men being and acting tough, so he had a hard time opening up.
He missed a lot of school, being afraid to actually show up and face bullying.
My own experience confirms the survey statistics and examples from the article, and made me see how big of a problem it really is.
