The front page of The Tribune on March 4 featured three stories that combined, made me scratch my head. See: “Coastline Security,” “Mobile pot dispensaries can roll in Pismo,” and finally “E-cigarette ban moves ahead in SLO.” First the Sheriff’s department spends $350,000 dollars to keep illegal drugs out of the county. Next in a move that seems counterproductive to the Sheriff’s Office’s efforts, Pismo Beach OKs mobile marijuana dispensaries and finally, San Luis proposes a ban on e-cigarettes in public areas, which to my knowledge is still legal. So to summarize: Fight the illegal substance, OK the distribution of the illegal substance, propose a ban on the legal behavior. Strange times indeed.
