Leave Cherry Canyon be

I am opposed to the proposed development of Cherry Canyon. It was a political travesty that kept it from being protected by the Land Conservancy, and it should remain as undeveloped as possible.

Aside from the obvious conservation benefits, there are multiple reasons this would be a bad idea. First is the impact on Avila, which is already heavily impacted on weekends and holidays. Second is the safety of the residents if there were to be an emergency. Third is the sheer size of the proposal. Do we want to look like Los Angeles or San Jose, where houses crowd every hill?

I do not live in Avila, but feel this is an issue that affects everyone in the county. I urge like-minded citizens to contact their supervisor to solicit opposition to any zoning changes that would allow this development.
