I am a critical care nurse at French Hospital Medical Center, and I am also a hospice nurse at Dignity Hospice. On Jan. 31, I will be running 100 miles to raise funds for The Hearst Cancer Foundation.
As a nurse, I have seen the devastation caused by cancer to patients and their families. When patients first receive a cancer diagnosis, they experience multiple feelings such as denial, confusion, anger. However, knowledge is power. The Hearst Cancer Foundation offers multiple services such as counseling, support groups, wigs. All services provided by the foundation are free to the community.
I am asking you to support my run by donating whatever amount to The Hearst Cancer Foundation in my name. You can contact the foundation at 805-542-6496 or http://www.supportfrenchhospital.org. Make sure you mention you are sponsoring Sandra Bocchicchio’s 100-mile run. Thank you so much and may you and your loved ones live without cancer.
