This is in response to Myra Tompkins’ Nov. 7 letter:
She falsely accused me of complaining about having to repair my sewer line here in San Luis Obispo. Read my letter again, Ms. Tompkins, and you will see that my complaint was that Jan Marx never got back to me with answers when she said she would. I asked her why I had to pay the city of San Luis Obispo a $1,200 fee to “permit” me to replace my collapsed sewer line. I also asked her where in the city’s bureaucracy my $1,200 went. I’m still waiting for an answer.
The city no longer gives rebates for sewer repairs, so the $4,000 Ms. Tompkins paid a decade ago for her collapsed sewer line will now cost homeowners $10,000.
