County voters who approved school bond measures in support of public education in the recent election should be commended for their support and insight. Especially significant is the approval of Measure L which makes available funding for the upgrade of facilities and other building needs for the Cuesta College campuses. A support community committee, headed by Robert Wacker, worked diligently and successfully to inform the public of the various buildings’ needs. Not to be overlooked is the “behind the scenes” leadership offered by Cuesta College President-Superintendent Gilbert Stork, who was greatly instrumental in the successful passage of the bond measure. To his credit also, in the past four years, he has provided the leadership to regain full accreditation for the college.
The people of this county are fortunate to have had his leadership for the direction of this fully accredited college district and now, with the passage of Measure L, funding to help meet the future facility needs of the college campuses.
A sincere vote of appreciation is offered to the voters of this college district.
