A supportive mayor

There are very, very few people in Atascadero who carry the knowledge and connections to help guide and protect Atascadero as mayor Tom O’Malley.

My husband, Wally, and I have known him and his family for a long, long time. Whether it has been supporting a son or daughter’s school fundraiser or guiding our city through the long and complicated restoration of our beautiful administration building, Tom’s support has been solid and wholehearted.

In 2003, when he suggested the idea of recreating Atascadero’s early Tent City, he took on the fundraising himself, urged others to invest in tent exhibits, and himself invested in a large tent that began as a schoolhouse, and later, the O’Malley Ice Cream Parlor.

I have been proud of him as a friend and happy for our community that Tom has long served on committees and organizations at the city, county and state levels, bringing that first-person knowledge and leadership to help position and guide Atascadero. Tom is as devoted to Atascadero as any person I have ever known. I heartily endorse his re-election as mayor.
