Support for CASA

CASA of San Luis Obispo County serves local abused and neglected children. CASA advocates offer their time to a vulnerable group of children who have no one to speak up for them. They get to know these children, build a relationship and work to secure them a safe, nurturing and permanent home.

Generous community support allows CASA’s work to continue. On Sept. 20, CASA’s fundraiser, “Rendezvous 2014”, took place at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. Two hundred people attended enjoying an evening of gourmet food, premium wines, auctions and heartfelt speakers. Proceeds from the event totaled a record-breaking $120,000 for our program.

At present, 98 CASA advocates are serving 139 children. They visit them, maintain contact with teachers, doctors, therapists, parents and foster parents, and provide important information to the court. But there are still 304 children on the wait list for a CASA advocate. Generous funding and community support will help us reach our goal of serving every child in need.

We extend our sincere thank you to everyone who supported CASA by attending Rendezvous. Thank you also to our staff, donors, Guild, Board and sponsors for their contributions to CASA’s Rendezvous 2014.
