City’s cross-section

As a former Atascadero business owner and parent of school-age children, I couldn’t disagree more with your Atascadero City Council endorsements.

The Tribune’s suggestion would leave Atascadero with an all-senior citizen council and cut the number of female council members in half. The median age in Atascadero is 38.2 years old. We are working professionals, parents, homeowners, tenants, volunteers and consumers. We care about roads, housing, schools, civic services, jobs and keeping our families safe from harm.

Heather Moreno and Brian Sturtevant bring the perspective of young professionals, business owners and working families to the table. Our incumbents, Moreno and Sturtevant, provide a dimension on the council that better serves our city’s broad crosssection of diverse residents.
