Tax funds spent well

When I look back over the past seven years and ask myself, is our community better off for having passed Measure Y, my conclusion is a resounding, “Yes!” That is why I am voting in favor of Measure G, the extension of the half-percent sales tax.

Not only does this tax generate in excess of $6.5 million annually — it has been spent wisely and shown tangible benefit to our quality of life.

In my estimation, our newly paved roads, addition of two police officers to patrol the downtown core, a full-time fire marshal, remodeling of the senior center and expansion of the Bob Jones City to Sea Trail, to name just a few, tell me the funds were spent in a fiscally responsible manner on projects that make San Luis Obispo a great place to live.
