PG&E just got approval to raise your rates by $8 a month, but that’s not all. It’s also trying to add another $5 a month on top of that!
That’s two rate hikes, $156 a year per customer, and at least $2.4 billion over three years. For what? To “ensure safe, reliable gas transmission and storage.”
But here’s the worst part, Californians already gave PG&E hundreds of millions of dollars for safety measures and it chose to spend it on shareholder dividends and executive bonuses. And here is something else that is even worse: PG&E has given our local Assemblyman Katcho Achadjian $7,800, and $0 to his opponent Heidi Harmon for their election campaigns. Why? Because Achadjian is its loyal friend in the state Assembly.
But PG&E knows that Harmon is not its friend. She would be all over PG&E to roll back this unjust “gift” to its wealthy executives.
Let’s elect Heidi Harmon to the 35th Assembly District in November.
