Time to get creative

I have a simple question to ask: Isn’t it about time our elected officials — local, state and federal — stop trying to figure out ways to regulate the use of water and start trying to seek solutions to the problem? If oil pipelines can be stretched over hundreds of miles, why can’t water, or desalinization of the largest body of water, or preparing to save potential water by building dams or reservoirs? I guess being creative is not in politicians’ best interest of power-grabbing.
