A.G. needs perspective

Entirely too much oxygen has been given to the July 3 “incident” in Arroyo Grande. Critics say we’ll never recover from our “city’s damaged credibility;” that both mayor and city manager must be fired!

How about some perspective? On March 18, 2011, a hateful cross-burning crime received national opprobrium! On July 3, 2014, a pair of senior City Hall employees — who work at City Hall — breaking no laws — were there talking privately, past normal working hours. Those are the facts.

Unless you were in that office with them, no one else knows any other facts. But with salacious innuendo everywhere, perhaps you assumed? I assumed the moon was made of cheese. To be fair, I was only 4 years old.

Is Steve Adams’ career, with a proven record of competent, committed performance in A.G., really a fair price to score a take-down of Mayor Ferrara’s “cover-up”? Apparently for some, the ballot box just doesn’t get you what you really want, does it? Remember your history? “In the end, (Senator), have you no decency?” Have we?

To be fair, let’s be on the right side of history this time. Adams and Teresa McClish are innocent until proven guilty. Fact.
