Stop bad biking behavior

I have ridden my bike to/from work for over 35 years in San Luis Obispo.

I have been to the hospital twice from bike accidents — once after being hit by a car, and the other time after being run off the road. But the big irritation to me is the obnoxious, selfish, self-righteous attitude and dangerous behavior of cyclists who insist on riding in parallel, or who ride on the line delineating the bike lane, or who zip through stop signs and loudly proclaim their “rights.”

This biking behavior is illegal. Which brings up the bigger question — why do we even need to talk about this? Why haven’t the expensive law enforcement people (city, campus, sheriff) effectively put a stop to this behavior? This is a clear example of large-scale incompetence. Write the tickets and collect the fines!
