There they are again: The gruff voiced men in dark uniforms on our television screens. Their words are always crisp and authoritative: We must intervene (bomb, kill, maim) in order to bring democracy to a country that is so steeped in its culture as to not comprehend equal rights for its people.
Those who grow obscenely wealthy from manufacturing weapons of war have done it again.
As President Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence by the military industrial complex.”
