Not the only way

In response to “The Price of Peace” letter from Nancy Watson on Aug. 6: Violence is never the only alternative in overcoming evil. Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. — why, Jesus himself, for crying out loud — are stumbling-block witnesses to another way, in stark contrast to the ways of a world that sacralizes and justifies its own “sensible” violence as the only practical response to evil.
