No outrage on taxes

There was a time when we citizens took responsibility for ourselves and our families. Slowly, we have allowed elected government officials to take over those responsibilities and create hundreds of government agencies with unelected people to rule our lives.

These unelected people have billions of our dollars to spend as they see fit. We easily accept this, never questioning what they are doing with our money. Our gas prices keep going up — no one complains — and they are going up even more come January 2015.

Three unelected officials decided we were not paying enough in gas taxes. No outrage. On Nov. 4, you all have an opportunity to express your outrage. It would be nice to see if anyone cares.
