Boy Scout Troop 214 of Los Osos had the opportunity to go deep-sea fishing July 22 thanks to the Kids At Sea Program in Morro Bay. This trip was organized through Central Coast Sportfishing of Morro Bay, which also provided all the rods and tackle needed.
Eleven scouts from our troop attended this outing. Some had never been on a deep-sea fishing trip before. I would like to thank Sharon Rowley, who runs the Kids at Sea program, originally set up by her daughter, Michele Leary. A big thank you to Central Coast Sportfishing of Morro Bay, which made this trip possible, and also to Anglers Anonymous, which helped the scouts during the fishing trip.
We caught rock fish and lingcod and went home with a ton of freshly caught fish. I know what we all had for dinner that evening!
