Wake up, water users

So I pick up this morning’s Tribune, and the first headline I see is “California makes wasting water a crime” (July 16). Then, immediately next to that, “City steps in to revitalize Laguna Lake.” How much water will THAT take?

Oh, then I turned over the front section of the paper to see a photo of a maintenance worker watering the lawn at the Paso Robles fairgrounds. On Monday, I witnessed a city worker in San Luis Obispo hosing down the sidewalk.

Meanwhile, in virtually every restaurant I’ve been in during the past few months, I am served a glass of water whether or not I ask for it.

Hello, people. There is a drought! Wake up, and save water!
