Thirty-two young people just completed a week of fun and educational outdoor activities at San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden. A huge thank you to all who made this possible. Camp registrations pay for only part of the expenses, and the balance is made up by sponsorships and donated time and expertise. Included in this group of sponsors were Joan Sargen, SLO Natural Foods Co-Op, Central Coast Funds for Children and the Cuesta Library. The following agencies brought live exhibits and speakers: Wolf Hybrid Adoptions and Rescue, Pacific Wildlife Care and Rubbing Noses with Reptiles. Dennis Sheridan’s insects also made their impressive appearance. And many hours of preparation, supervision and presentation were lovingly handled by the Botanical Garden’s children’s docents and by volunteer counselors from the community.
The Botanical Garden provides year-round outdoor educational and fun sessions for our youths. You can check on upcoming activities for kids and adults at www.slobg.org , as well as accessing our Facebook page (from the home page) for pictures of the camp activities. And that’s also a good place to make donations to keep the Garden’s services available to our community!
