Dan Krieger’s timely synopsis of World War I, July 6, and his empathetic look at the price the other side pays for heroic actions was a pleasure to read. I suspect when he quotes “when will they ever learn” that he is indeed speaking to all of us.
I hope we learn quickly. There is so very much at stake if we don’t stop relying on military solutions for cultural problems.
