An ever-increasing percentage of the local population is past child-rearing age and would be more receptive to facilities that aren’t only intended for kids.
That means continuing to support the Sinsheimer pool instead of building a new one at San Luis Obispo High School and not locking up your resurfaced tracks to prevent use by folks other than students. Cuesta College could also improve their chances by not admitting so many out-of-area students who exacerbate the local housing problems because there are no dorms.
I always viewed a community college as a place for students who live at home, not ones who couldn’t get admitted to Cal Poly but still wanted to enjoy living in paradise.
