Caren Ray has my vote for 4th District supervisor.
I served with Caren on the Arroyo Grande Planning Commission and City Council before she was appointed to the Board of Supervisors. It was obvious to me that, even though she had a full-time teaching job, Caren spent a good deal of time studying each issue that came before us. When members of the public spoke, Caren listened attentively and took notes, then respectfully addressed the speakers’ concerns.
Recently Caren asked if I would take part in an effort by Nipomo citizens to save and rehabilitate the original 1882 land office building in Old Town Nipomo. So far she has taken an active part in all four of the related meetings that have ensued, even bringing relevant county personnel to two of the meetings in order to save time and frustrating delays.
The other two candidates for the position seem to have good intentions, but Caren has demonstrated her ability to ably serve the people of south San Luis Obispo County while on Planning Commission, council and Board of Supervisors.

I hope other readers will join me in keeping Caren Ray working for us, full time, on the board by voting for her June 3.
