The problem with the political process is too much money and too much ego. The local district attorney’s race is indicative of that failure. The candidates have spent some $150,000 littering the landscape with their fancy signs that tell us nothing.
Write-in candidacy is the only way to purify our dysfunctional process. Don’t buy the hype or the belief that writing in a name of a candidate is not a legitimate way to find leaders. Real leaders won’t sell their souls for the job. If you have to put your name on the ballot to let people know who you are, then you haven’t been doing much leading in the first place. Take a chance, change the course of our system and vote for Paul Phillips. He is a native, he attended Cal Poly and he has been among us his whole life. Those credentials are good enough for me.
