It has been a while since my last letter to The Tribune and I didn’t plan on writing any more. However, after seeing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on “Face the Nation” saying that giving unemployment benefits to the unemployed is very good for the economy, I couldn’t help myself.
I guess it takes the likes of really smart people like Harry Reid and all those folks echoing what he said to run this country? But hey, how can I question their solution to improve the economy? They are simply copying the president, who said the same thing.
There is no question that unemployment benefits help the unemployed, and that’s a very good thing, but if it’s good for the economy, then why not lay off all those Americans still working, give them unemployment benefits and really improve the economy? Hmmm, Harry Reid?
