What we’re missing

I have been watching many re-runs of “Duck Dynasty” lately, and I think I’ve found the reason why the show is so popular.

For one, it’s as funny as can be. More importantly, it is a show about the family unit.

Each member cares for the other and pulls those who are down back into the fold. It is about love and caring and togetherness and a cohesive family unit, fortified by a strong belief in their creator.

It was this that once made our country great, and the lack of it is now tearing our country apart. People who watch this show feel that at a deep inner and often unconscious level.

We can spend more money on law enforcement, schools, prisons — but until we get back to the faith of our fathers and the strong family unit, we are just throwing money at the problems and ignoring the solutions.
