Wrong place

My wife, Stephanie, and I are adamantly opposed to Cal Poly’s plans to put a 1,450-freshman residential facility at the corner of Grand and Slack street on the Cal Poly campus.

We appreciate the coverage the Tribune gave to this project on the Dec. 3 front page. We also appreciate you giving Dan Carpenter’s Viewpoint piece a prominent spot on the Opinion page two days later.

Dan hit the nail on the head. The corner of Grand and Slack is the wrong place for such a facility. He had many good arguments that delivered the feelings of the permanent residents of Alta Vista and Monterey Heights neighborhood’s as to why we oppose the proposed project.

We just hope that Cal Poly listens, and positively reacts, to our objections to the proposed project.
