A SAVE success

Sip It For SAVE was a great success. Held at Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards Oct. 20, our fundraiser to benefit Sexual Assault Victim Education, Inc. (SAVE) raised more than $2,500 to advance our work in the prevention of sexual abuse of young children.

SAVE provides the “Talking About Touching” personal safety curriculum free of charge to any interested preschool-age childcare program in the county. We work hard to educate our county’s youngest children and their families about how to keep themselves safe from many dangers, including sexual abuse. We currently serve more than 65 childcare programs, and have standing requests from 30 more providers for the “Talking About Touching” curriculum.

Once again, the Kelseys made everyone feel like they were guests invited for a special party in their backyard. The Board of Directors of SAVE is thankful to the Kelseys for their generous donation of the beautiful venue, 15 percent of the day’s wine sales and help with more details than we can count. Many local businesses generously donated items for our silent auction. We are filled with gratitude for this generous community that we live in.
