Not America’s friend

So, let me get this straight: Corporate profits as a percentage of gross domestic product are at a 40-year high, causing the Dow Jones to reach a new peak, the effective corporate tax rate is the lowest in 50 years, now accounting for less than 9 percent of federal revenues, corporate cash reserves as a percent of total assets are the highest in 50 years, they have outsourced millions of jobs in the past few decades and permanently “laid off” millions more, yet they have allowed wages and salaries as a percentage of GDP to hit a 40-year low?

Is it not abundantly clear that, through these past years of a recovering but still fragile economy, the private business sector, at least as personified by the large multinational corporations, has simply not been America’s friend?
