Over the last several days, news coverage regarding the opening of former President George W. Bush’s museum has generated at least one syndicated column that has tried to rehabilitate his eight-year tenure in office, and also has led to quite a few very well-written letters skewering his administrations.
I would direct people to investigative reporter Jeremy Scahill’s latest book, “Dirty Wars: The World is a Battlefield.”
Scahill is the best-selling author of “Blackwater,” and what he writes about in his latest cuts across both party lines, but reinforces the idea that many in the previous administration really have gotten away with murder, figuratively and literally .
Both of his books have left me sitting up at night, wide-eyed, and staring into the dark.
