Spread out the risk

It is abundantly clear that the people in San Luis Obispo County will have to store the nuclear waste from the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant until the federal government comes up with a long-term solution to the problem. It would only be fair if the people from SLO County received some benefit for exposing themselves to the risks of that storage. PG&E can claim they are safely storing it all they want, but I say that when the waste is dangerous for hundreds of years, they cannot promise complete safety and are selling us a false dream. History in other places has proved otherwise. Let all the other counties that are receiving power from Diablo take their fair share of the waste in proportion to the amount of power they receive from Diablo.
