Bill Thoma is such a respected, productive and giving member of the San Luis Obispo community. His philanthropic work has more than followed his compassion.
The recent article revealing the tempest between many in the business community, the neighbors of the Homeless Services Center on Higuera and Supervisor Hill reveals that much more work needs to be done in terms of location and process. Above all, the cause of homelessness and helping that population is not served by attacking or demonizing those with legitimate concerns.
We have had enough of this polarizing “bad guy-good guy” stuff coming out of Washington and Sacramento. It get’s nothing accomplished. Let’s not do that here.
