Letter: Prado's services

In the past few months, we’ve seen a lot of news about homelessness in our community, especially about the services that are lacking. Not so much is written about the services that are already available.

Prado Day Center provides many services to the homeless and working poor in San Luis Obispo. You may already know that the center provides breakfast every day, as well as a daily hot lunch provided by the People’s Kitchen. And you may also know that the center provides the opportunity to take a shower, do laundry, and get phone messages. However, many additional services are available at Prado Day Center that you may not be aware of: job placement, housing placement, substance abuse help, medical and dental services, and others.

If you or your organization would like more information about the services provided at Prado Day Center, a representative from the Friends of Prado Day Center would be happy to come talk with you about them. Please contact royrawlings@pradodaycenter.org if you would like to arrange for a speaker.
