Letters to the Editor

Letter: Many accomplishments

I shake my head in amazement when I read articles such as the one submitted by Rex Allen of Paso Robles, (letters, Aug. 18). Are there really people this ignorant of the accomplishments of our president?

I invite him to read the 50 Top Accomplishments of Barack Obama, published April 24, 2012, by the Washington Monthly. Just in case, here are the top 10: 1. Passed health care reform (Affordable Care Act) to cover 32 million uninsured Americans in 2014. 2. Passed the stimulus — $787 billion to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. 3. Passed Wall Street reform; 4. Ended the war in Iraq; 5. Began drawdown of the war in Afghanistan 6. Eliminated Osama Bin Laden 7. Bailed out the U.S. auto industry 8. Repealed “Don’t ask, don’t tell.” 9. Helped topple Moammar Gaddafi. 10. Reversed the Bush torture program.

The list goes on and on.

Oh, and by the way, Mr. Allen does not mention any accomplishments of the Republican Party. The reason being there were none due to the fact his party was too busy trying to make President Obama look inept. Now, whom would you rather vote for? A president who is trying to help this country or a party that does nothing for you — unless, of course, you are super rich.
