Thank you for including a serious article on Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein and her proposed Green New Deal (Aug. 5).
Stein is a breath of fresh air compared to the stale corporatist candidates Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. The main similarity between these three candidates is that they all went to Harvard: Stein to Harvard Medical School.
The differences are vast. Jill Stein is not sponsored by Wall Street, and her platform includes protection for critical social programs such as Social Security, Medicare, children’s services and many more.
The Green Party differs from the Democrats on numerous issues. We want to abolish the death penalty, dismantle nuclear plants, vastly reduce our military presence overseas (a military base in Germany — how wasteful is that!), fix our infrastructure while improving public transportation, invest in truly green energy rather than offshore oil drilling, directly help homeowners rather than spend trillions bailing out the banks
