In the Aug. 16 issue, the political cartoon on the Opinion page was incorrect. You cannot compare Obamacare with the “Ryan plan” because Paul Ryan is not running for president and no longer has “his plan.” Mitt Romney is the Republican presidential candidate. Compare apples to apples: Romney plan vs. Obamacare.
And another letter discussed “Ryan’s budget plan.” Again, not correct and comparing apples to oranges as VP candidate Ryan no longer has his “own budget plan.” It was something he proposed as a congressman and was turned down by Congress; therefore it no longer exists. And remember, it was Obama who is taking $716 billion from Medicare to fund Obamacare, so just who is “gutting Medicare”?
