Letter: Left in the dust

I would like to reply to Alice Appel’s letter (July 9).

If the Pismo city manager invoked the name of Allah or another deity, would you be as outraged as at the name of Jesus?

What about the Bible being outlawed in schools, and yet they can be taught all about Islam and no one is outraged? Christians who hold Bible studies in their homes in places (like Phoenix) get fined thousands of dollars and put in jail for 60 days? Is that fair?

What about a cross that has been up for many years in the middle of the desert having to be taken down because it might offend someone? Does it matter that the only ones losing their freedom of speech are Christians? Somehow the era of “not offending someone” is leaving the Christian in the dust of political correctness.
