In the June 20 Tribune, a small wire service article stated: “In the last couple of years, Washington has earmarked a bigger chunk of its aid to Pakistan for civilian projects.”
The article relates that a polling of Pakistanis found that approximately 75 percent “... regard the U.S. as an enemy.” Well, it hasn’t worked. I guess throwing good money after bad will not buy friendship. This is another example of the insane thinking in Washington.
The money would be better spent trying to buy the goodwill of the American people. At least they will be thankful for the help that so many need here at home.
