Now that President Barack Obama’s health care debacle has been declared constitutional, the government can mandate that its citizens buy products the government sees fit.
I think the government should mandate people living in areas prone to storms to buy generators for emergency electricity. Having an emergency generator would save millions of dollars on spoiled food, save lives by running air conditioners and allow lighting in their homes. The cost of $500 to $1,500 can be paid by government grants.
While they’re at it, they should mandate everybody drive Chevy Volts, and use Crest toothpaste and Charmin toilet paper!
