If I were U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, I would be proud to be held in contempt of Congress by this U.S. House of Representatives. The most contemptible of this rotten bunch is California Rep. Darrell Issa. Rep. Issa’s theory that the Department of Justice’s program Fast and Furious (started by the previous administration as Wide Receiver) was a conspiracy to take away assault rifles from law-abiding Americans is laughable. If I were from Rep. Issa’s district, I would be ashamed that I had him representing me.
My theory is Rep. Issa and his cohorts are trying to put the heat on the Department of Justice because they want to slow down the court’s actions against the Republican Party’s attempt to suppress the voting rights of U.S. citizens by demanding photo identification in order to register and vote. That is the real contemptible act, and I hope the entire bunch of Republicans and Democrats who voted for the contempt citation are run out of office in November.
