The Oceano Depot Association held its first “Hobo Bash” fundraiser May 19 to support the restoration of Oceano’s historic railroad depot.
We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to the following businesses and volunteers whose generosity and support contributed to the success of the event: Pismo-Oceano Vegetable Exchange, Taylor Produce, Central Market, Coco’s Bakery Restaurant, Mike and Gloria Van Muysen, Chuck and Colleen Bachman, Glenda Guiton, Barbara Mann, Kellie Myrick, Arla Sloan, Norm Hammond, Cindy Winter, Mark Weedon, Larry Ramey, and Tom and Deb Geaslen.
A special thanks to the members of the band, Don Utterback, Rudy Alaziz, Paul Lewis and Marty Loy for their outstanding music, and to the San Luis Obispo Model Railroad Association for their model railroad display that is always a big hit. To the people who came out and enjoyed “Hobo Stew,” live music and trains, thank you for your support. The Oceano Depot museum is open Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. or by appointment.
