Morro Bay recently hosted a conference for the Outdoor Writers Association of California. OWAC would like to extend its thanks to the more than 30 businesses and organizations that united to provide us with an exquisite portrait of Morro Bay and all of the incredible outdoor recreational opportunities that it offers during our spring 2012 conference.
OWAC is a nonprofit association of media professionals who communicate the vast array of outdoor recreational opportunities and related issues in California and the surrounding Western region.
As a professional organization, OWAC is dedicated to promoting and encouraging participation in the outdoors. Through our Outdoor Outreach program, OWAC provides a number of mini-grants from $250 to $500 to registered California nonprofit, outdoor-oriented groups to help fund specific projects to protect, defend, support and/or improve the atmosphere and enjoyment of the outdoors for Californians.
We would encourage the organizations in Morro Bay that share our enthusiasm and commitment to the outdoors to apply. Information and applications are available at www.owac.org/outdoor-outreach.
