Letter: Bloated Schools

Every few years you re-run your “government schools” articles, repeating the same thing: school budgets cut ... children failing ... taxpayers must pay more. In logic, we call that the fal lacy of the “either/or.” Government was not designed to educate our children. Public schools are bloated with bureaucrats and the cuts only hit the children and front-line classroom teachers.

Why don’t we kick to the curb the overpaid administrators and teacher unions that fail even when they have all the money, and give parents vouchers that will allow the American market system to work, give parents real choice and power, and allow real teachers to teach? I took my three children out of the government system 15 years ago and on my own dime. They did just fine and we could not be happier.
