Didn’t keep us safe

I was mildly amused by the Sept. 16 Republican debate but was a little surprised when candidate Jeb Bush said, “My brother kept this country safe.” And nobody, not one candidate, called him on it.

Have we forgotten 9/11 so soon? And the fact that George W., despite having been warned by the Clinton administration about al-Qaida initiatives, paid more attention to his plan to invade Iraq than to al-Qaida? The most horrendous attack on the U.S. since Pearl Harbor happened on George’s watch — he did not keep us safe.
